NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – You have a chance to see the Starlink satellite train tonight.<\/p>\n

Tonight, you have the opportunity to see the Starlink satellite train pass over Middle Tennessee. A mainly clear sky should set the stage for excellent viewing conditions.<\/p>\n

Starlink is a sophisticated group of satellites that orbit Earth in an effort to provide broadband internet connectivity across the entire globe. When seen during optimal viewing conditions, Starlink looks like a line of bright dots traversing the sky at a steady rate. Those dots (the individual satellites) look similar to stars.<\/p>\n

Last night, this is the way Starlink looked as it passed over Lebanon, Tennessee around 8:30 pm, courtesy of Rick Broyles.<\/p>\n

Tonight\u2019s viewing opportunity will be similar. According to this Starlink Satellites Tracker website<\/a>, Starlink will enter Middle Tennessee\u2019s field of view from the northwest at 8:39 pm. It\u2019ll exit the southern sky at 8:43 pm. The satellites should be almost directly overhead at 8:41 pm. IMPORTANT: As noted on the website (in the link provided above), timing errors are possible since sometimes the orbit of these satellites is changed with no notification. If I were you, I\u2019d head outdoors around 8:30 pm to let my eyes adjust and start looking, in case they show up early.<\/p>\n
