Olympia Milan loses again, in the sprint, in Barcelona after being ahead by double digits and mismanaging the last possession.
These are Coach Messina’s words in the press conference:
It was a hard-fought game that could have gone either way, but unfortunately, it went their way. I think the two three-pointers we conceded at the end of the second quarter, when Barcelona went from 11 points down to five, had a significant impact because up until then, we had controlled the game, defending well, being aggressive, forcing a few turnovers, and then moving the ball well on offense. We did the same in the second half, but without the clarity to shoot threes. Our percentages condemned us. Those two three-pointers allowed Barca to regain their rhythm. In the third quarter, we defended poorly, and that gave Barcelona the momentum. We tried in the fourth quarter, but then on the last possession, we didn’t have the composure to create a good shot.”
