However, the first match is already on the schedule: Cus Siena Rugby will take to the field in Città di Castello to face the local team in the eighth Matteo Montanucci Memorial, a significant test to evaluate the team’s condition. Meanwhile, the mini rugby The Siena rugby team has already returned to the field with great enthusiasm: last Saturday, the first Open Day was held, with over 25 boys and girls eager to participate. In the coming days, depending on the final reseeding and fertilizing of the turf, the organization of the second Open Day will be evaluated, before the official start of training, scheduled for the first weeks of October. The coaching structure has been confirmed: Francesco Romei will continue to lead the first team as manager and coordinator of the coaching group, while Elena Calzeroni will oversee athletic preparation. After last season’s excellent fourth-place finish—the best ever for the Siena team—the ambition is to consolidate the level achieved, also giving space to the many young players who have grown up in the youth academy. The return to Acquacalda, which has yet to be completed, represents much more than a simple change of venue: it is a return to the roots, to the field where generations of Siena rugby players learned to fall, get up, fight, and grow. And starting this year, everything will be under the banner of Tommaso Rizzi.
