La decima tappa della Vuelta di Spagna proponeva l’arrivo in salita a El Ferrial Larra Belagua, con gli ultimi 9,4 chilometri al 6,1% di pendenza media. Jonas Vingegaard si è impossessato della maglia rossa di leader della classifica generale, scalzando il norvegese Torstein Træen dalla vetta della graduatoria. I big sono giunti sul traguardo tutti insieme (tranne Gall e Bernal, che hanno perso un po’ di terreno), con un nulla di fatto nella lotta per salire sul podio finale a Madrid.
Il capitano del Team Visma | Lease a Bike primeggia in classifica con un vantaggio di 26” su Træen (scivolerà poi progressivamente indietro), 38” sul portoghese Joao Almeida, 58” sul britannico Thomas Pidcock, 2’03” sull’austriaco Felix Gall, 2’05” su Giulio Ciccone. Giulio Pellizzari guadagna una posizione e sale al nono posto con un ritardo di 2’16”, alla pari con l’australiano Jai Hindley. Lorenzo Fortunato è invece uscito dalla top-10, dove è entrato lo statunitense Matthew Riccitello.
Di seguito la classifica generale della Vuelta di Spagna al termine della decima tappa. Domani (mercoledì 3 settembre) è prevista l’undicesima frazione: 157,4 km particolarmente mossi con partenza e arrivo a Bilbao, l’altimetria sarà particolarmente esigente con le salite dell’Alto de Morga, Alto del Vivero (due volte) e Alto de Pike da affrontare negli ultimi ottanta chilometri.
