Dopo\u00a0500 anni<\/strong>\u00a0dal momento in cui venne commissionata e dopo pi\u00f9 di due secoli di assenza<\/strong>\u00a0dalla\u00a0Chiesa di Monteluce<\/strong>, fa ritorno nella citt\u00e0 di Perugia<\/strong>\u00a0un\u2019opera tanto complessa quanto stupefacente: \u201cL\u2019Incoronazione della Vergine<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

Era il 1505<\/strong>\u00a0quando le\u00a0clarisse di Monteluce<\/strong>\u00a0richiesero a Raffaello all\u2019epoca 22enne, la realizzazione di una grande pala d\u2019altare. L\u2019opera arriv\u00f2 a Perugia dopo anni, nel 1525<\/strong>, contratti andati in fumo e dopo la morte del celebre pittore urbinate. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cL\u2019Incoronazione della Vergine<\/strong>\u201d venne ultimata da due dei suoi allievi pi\u00f9 promettenti che poi avranno notevole successo a Roma e non solo:\u00a0Giulio Romano<\/strong>\u00a0e\u00a0Giovan Francesco Penni<\/strong>. Per secoli la pala d\u2019altare venne collocata nella\u00a0chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta di Monteluce<\/strong> ma poi arriv\u00f2 l\u2019epoca napoleonica e venne requisita dagli emissari dell\u2019imperatore.<\/p>\n

Oggi, dopo diverse e complesse vicissitudini, appartiene alla Pinacoteca dei Musei Vaticani<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

L\u2019opera monumentale commissionata secoli or sono a Raffaello torna a casa per celebrare e raccontare un\u00a0cammino di Speranza<\/strong>:\u00a0all\u2019arte<\/strong>, in questo caso, viene affidato il compito di raccontare il\u00a0percorso giubilare del 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I protagonisti del dipinto riscoprono infatti la speranza trovandosi dinanzi a un sepolcro dentro il quale non c\u2019\u00e8 un corpo disteso ma fiori coloratissimi,<\/strong> simbolo di prosperit\u00e0 e di speranza nel futuro.<\/p>\n

After 500 years since it was commissioned and after more than two centuries of absence from the Church of Monteluce, a work as complex as it is astonishing returns to the city of Perugia: \u201cThe Coronation of the Virgin.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was 1505 when the Poor Clares of Monteluce commissioned Raphael, then 22, to create a large altarpiece. The work arrived in Perugia years later, in 1525, after contracts fell through and the death of the famous painter from Urbino.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Coronation of the Virgin\u201d was completed by two of his most promising students, Giulio Romano and Giovan Francesco Penni, who would later achieve considerable success in Rome and beyond. For centuries, the altarpiece was located in the Church of Santa Maria Assunta di Monteluce, but then, during the Napoleonic era, it was requisitioned by the emperor\u2019s emissaries.<\/p>\n

Today, after several complex vicissitudes, it belongs to the Pinacoteca of the Vatican Museums.<\/p>\n

The monumental work commissioned centuries ago from Raphael returns home to celebrate and narrate a journey of hope: art, in this case, has been entrusted with the task of narrating the Jubilee journey of 2025.<\/p>\n

The painting\u2019s protagonists rediscover hope as they find themselves before a tomb containing not a reclining body but brightly colored flowers, a symbol of prosperity and hope for the future.<\/p>\n

The exhibition will be held in the Museo del Capitolo \u2013 Isola San Lorenzo until January 7, 2026.<\/p>\n

The exhibition is organized and curated by the Diocese of Perugia \u2013 Citt\u00e0 della Pieve in collaboration with the Vatican Museums.<\/p>\n
