Roma, 19 ottobre 2025 – I fan dei Limp Bizkit<\/strong> in lutto, \u00e8 morto Sam Rivers,<\/strong> il bassista della Florida co-fondatore della band nu metal<\/strong>, lo ha reso noto la tessa band sui social. Rivers, 48 anni, soffriva da tempo di problemi epatici legati all’abuso di alcol.<\/strong><\/p>\n

La band ha scritto che ha perso un fratello”, “il nostro cuore pulsante”. Rivers aveva fondato i Limp Bizkit nel 1994 insieme al cantante Fred Durst.<\/strong> I due avevano suonato insieme nei Malachi Sage. Da l\u00ec arriv\u00f2 il batterista John Otto, <\/strong>il chitarrista Wes Borland<\/strong> e pi\u00f9 tardi l’ex membro degli House of Pain, DJ Lethal.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nel 1999 la band scal\u00f2 le classifiche con l’album “Significant Other”, trascinato dal singolo “Nookie”. <\/strong>In breve il disco fu al primo posto della Billboard 200. <\/strong>Ma sempre nel 1999 a Woodstock durante la loro esibizione ci furono violenze e stupri<\/strong> che causarono tre morti e decine di feriti.<\/p>\n

Nel 2015 Rivers lasci\u00f2 la band per motivi di salute per poi rientrarvi nel 2018. “Era un essere umano irripetibile. Una vera leggenda delle leggende”<\/strong>, ha scritto la band nel suo post, “la tua musica non finisce mai”.<\/p>\n

Sam Rivers \u00e8 nato a Jacksonville<\/strong>, in Florida, nel 1977. Ha iniziato a suonare fin da giovane la tuba, poi per\u00f2 pass\u00f2 al basso e alla chitarra. Con l’amico Fred Durst fond\u00f2 i Malachi Sage.<\/strong> Poi, come detto, nel 1994 nacquero i Limp Bizkit. ,La band era composta da loro due, dal batterista John Otto e dal chitarrista Wes Borland (che avrebbe lasciato e rientrato nella band diverse volte) e, pi\u00f9 tardi, dall’ex membro degli House of Pain, DJ Lethal.<\/p>\n

Nel 1997 l’album di debutto della band, “Three Dollar Bill Y’all”<\/strong>, e un lungo tour con i Deftones, gli Helmet e il Warped Tour. Nel 1999 il successo con “Significant Other”,<\/strong> ridimensionato per\u00f2 dalla loro disastrosa apparizione al festival di Woodstock.<\/p>\n

Nel 2000 pubblicarono “Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water”<\/strong>, album dai testi senza filtri, spesso omofobi e sessisti voluti da Durst, cosa che cre\u00f2 conflitti tra lui e Borland <\/strong>che\u00a0portarono quest’ultimo ad abbandonare la band nel 2001.<\/p>\n

Cos\u00ec Rivers imbracci\u00f2 la chitarra<\/strong> per l’album seguente del 2003 “Results May Vary”,<\/strong> ma Borland si un\u00ec al gruppo l’anno successivo. Nel 2006 la band si prese una pausa, Rivers ne approfitt\u00f2 per lavorare come produttore<\/strong> con le band di Jacksonville Burn Season e Embraced, ruolo che amava e che avrebbe continuato dopo la riunione della band nel 2009.<\/p>\n
