Napoli’s impressive campaign was led by young Norwegian striker Rasmus Højlund, who scored a team-high 12 goals in 33 appearances. Scottish midfielder Scott McTominay finished just behind him with 10 goals, while Manchester City legend Kevin De Bruyne contributed five goals and two assists in only 18 appearances. De Bruyne will now have an opportunity to make an even bigger impact over a full season with Napoli, beginning Saturday against Genoa.
Genoa, meanwhile, endured a difficult campaign, finishing 16th in the 20-team Serie A table and just two places above the relegation zone. The club finished with 41 points from 38 matches, posting a 10-11-17 record with a minus-10 goal differential.
Italian forward Lorenzo Colombo led Genoa with seven goals last season, while Spanish left-back Aarón Caricol paced the club with five assists.
