Accompanied by her husband of nearly 12 years, George Clooney, the British-Lebanese human rights attorney wore a sleek black gown from the luxury label that eschewed elements of Old Hollywood style in favor of a modern sculpted silhouette.

The custom-made graphic gown was crafted in black silk taffeta, defined by narrow sculptural panels and irregular razor-sharp pleating. Black transparent georgette side panels were featured as well, finished with a sleek geometric neckline in patent leather.

Along with the dress, Amal Clooney wore the Tom Ford Vertigo shoes and carried a matching patent leather clutch. Her red carpet dress affirmed the attorney’s continued appreciation for Haider Ackermann’s designs under the Tom Ford label.

Upon arriving to Venice on Tuesday, Clooney was seen sporting a monochromatic selection from the spring 2027 collection — a dark moss silk satin low scoop-neck tank top with coordinated mini shorts, and single-breasted blazer. She also carried a gray suede bag from the label.

The Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann dress is a slight departure from Clooney’s past Venice Film Festival red carpet looks. In years prior, Clooney’s worn gowns that harkened back to Old Hollywood with flowing silhouettes and statement elements by the likes of Atelier Versace and vintage Jean-Louis Scherrer.

Unlike her last few red carpet dresses, the Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann gown continued Clooney’s recent gravitation toward pieces with quiet luxury elements and understated elegance, ushering in a potential new chapter in her red carpet fashion journey.
