The world’s longest cruise has officially set sail. Operated by Australia-based My Cruises, Explorations by Norwegian’s inaugural voyage departed from Rome on September 1, 2026. The Regatta cruise will embark on an extraordinary 371-day journey across 220 ports, 62 countries and six continents.

All about the world’s longest cruise ship
The itinerary stretches across some of the world’s most sought-after destinations. In Europe, passengers can explore places including Santorini, Naples, Copenhagen and Helsinki. The African leg includes stops such as Cape Verde, Cape Town and Zanzibar, while the Asian itinerary takes passengers through Hiroshima, Jeju Island, Colombo and Malé. Further west, the journey continues across the US, with destinations ranging from Alaska to the Amazon.
The inaugural voyage departed from Rome on September 1, 2026. However, there is another opportunity to join the experience, with a 367-day cruise scheduled to depart from Australia in February 2027. The exact departure date is not out yet.
Passengers willing to hop on the world’s longest cruise ship need not necessarily stay aboard for more than a year. Explorations by Norwegian is also offering shorter itineraries, including a 47-night African Odyssey Exploration, a 19-night sailing through Türkiye, the Greek islands and Malta.
The 348-room Regatta ship is carrying passengers on the world’s longest cruise. The vessel offers a range of facilities designed to keep travellers comfortable during more than a year at sea. Facilities include a library, a Monte Carlo-style casino, the Aquamar Spa and Vitality Centre, a fitness centre, a pool and a running track. Passengers can also make use of the ship’s sports deck, which features a golf course and shuffleboard court.
