A landslide triggered by recent severe weather struck the town of Salcito, in southern Italy, on Thursday, April 9, forcing residents to evacuate.

Firefighters said they had been on site since the morning after the landslide hit several homes, leading to the precautionary evacuation of around 50 people. Structural checks were underway, while a helicopter carried out aerial reconnaissance to monitor the affected area.
