Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight contender Colby Covington and the always unpredictable Dillon Danis will collide in a submission-only grappling match on Nov. 3 under Hype Fighting in Rome, Italy.

Hype Fighting announced the main event booking Wednesday afternoon via social media. See below:

Covington, 38, has been on an absolute tear since stepping away from UFC almost two years ago. This includes a 5-0 record under the Real American Freestyle (RAF) banner, in which he’s become the promotion’s Cruiserweight Crossover champion. In fact, Covington already holds a technical fall win over Danis from a meeting at RAF 7 back in March of this year (highlights HERE). Love him or hate him, “Chaos” has become one of the biggest names in wrestling and grappling over the past 12 months.

Remember, Covington already has a match booked with former UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev for RAF Abu Dhabi on Nov. 14 (details HERE).

Danis, on the other hand, is doing his best to stay relevant. Outside of his failed attempt to out-wrestle Covington, the 33-year-old grappler also has a loss to the aforementioned Chimaev back at RAF 10. Danis did capture a win in a MMA exhibition match at Misfits 22 in Aug. 2025, but that came against inexperienced fighter, Warren Spencer. All in all, Danis has struggled to showcase his talents on any stage since his departure from Bellator MMA over seven years ago.
