MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – A restaurant that opened this week is bringing the tastes of Italy to the Magic City.
Joe’s Italian is bringing authentic pasta, pizza and more to downtown Minot. The restaurant has six other locations across the U.S.
The new dining option has customers like Jimmy Grote excited.
“My ties to Italian food come from my upbringing; I’m from an Italian family in lower New York,” said Grote.
Grote said he was anxiously awaiting Joe’s opening and was proudly their first customer.
“I’ve just grown up with [Italian food], and I love it,” said Grote.
Owner Ardo Methasani said the first location opened in Texas, and they saw a need to expand to North Dakota.
“You guys don’t have a real Italian restaurant here, that’s why we came,” said Methasani.
Methasani added that top orders at other locations typically include spaghetti and meatballs and fettuccini.
“It’s all about the taste and how you make it. Like I said, the most part of our dishes is homemade,” said Methasani.
He said there is also a location in Grand Forks with ones in Bismarck, Dickinson and Williston in the works.
Methasani said they have three things they hope customers experience when dining with them.
“Love, patience and authentic Italian food,” said Methasani.

The restaurant is on 1st Street next to Prairie Sky Breads.
They are open every day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Staff said once they have a liquor license, hours may be extended.
