ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Three young people are facing charges after a 6-year-old was shot near a Rome park in early April, according to the city’s police department.
Isaiah Imari Curtis North, 18, Tydarius Arthur McClure, 17, and an unidentified juvenile are accused of aggravated assault. McClure and the juvenile are in custody, but North isn’t.

On April 8, police were called to the intersection of E. 13th Street and Crane Street, which is near Banty Jones Park, for reports of shots fired. That’s where they found the child, who had a gunshot wound to the knee and was taken to the hospital in stable condition, according to officers.
Police said they believed the incident was a drive-by shooting, and the child wasn’t the intended target.
Officers said community tips led to the arrest warrants. Now, the department is asking the public for more help as it tries to find North.
“We cannot do this without you. If you see something, say something,” the department said in a statement. “Because of your help, these warrants have been secured. Now help us locate these individuals and bring them to justice.”
