Milano native David Torresani signs with San Diego State, giving the Aztecs another international star<\/p>\n

Brian Dutcher has done it again. SDSU has landed a 6-foot-2 point guard from Italy<\/a> who recently played for Nutribullet Treviso (LBA Serie A) and helped win a Gold medal at the FIBA U20 European Basketball Championship (EuroBasket) in 2025, SDSU announced<\/a>.<\/p>\n

David Torresani is a highly coveted prospect who has garnered Big Ten interest<\/a> in the past. The PG declared for the NBA Draft last year, but withdrew and was expected to sign with a collegiate roster. That did not happen, and Torresani now joins an SDSU squad ready to make a statement in the rebirth of the Pac-12.<\/p>\n

Arman Jovic, a popular international basketball scout, has been high on Torresani for years now. Jovic does a great job breaking down his film and believes Torresani has NBA material. Torresani has grown in the last year and is listed as 6-foot-2 in all his league profiles.<\/p>\n

Torresani is a two-way player who will excel on both ends of the floor for the Aztecs. He dominated defensively in the U20 EuroBasket, racking up a combined 16 steals in seven games. Italy went 6-1 in the tournament, defeating Lithuania in the championship, where Torresani scored 13 points and added three assists, two rebounds, two steals, and one block. The PG began the tourney with three steals against Belgium, four against Germany, and another four against Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Torresani played for a very bad Nutribullet Treviso in the Serie A LBA last season. The team only won three games in which he appeared. Torresani had his ups and downs throughout the season, but he also showcased his high ceiling with some elite moments. Playing in Italy\u2019s best league is not easy. The Italian star scored a season-high of 20 points twice and had four other occasions where he scored in double figures. He made 25 three-pointers on the season and was 40\/51 from the free-throw line. His jump shot is still a work in progress.<\/p>\n

As seen in the highlights above, Torresani has a quick first move and has his eyes all over the court when the ball is in his possession. He may also be the fastest player on the court.<\/p>\n

Torresani will turn 21 on June 5. He has the age and experience over Elzie Harrington and Chance Gladden to emerge as a starting point guard or even shooting guard. Whether that happens is too early to determine. This signing definitely changes things and gives the Aztecs another deep backcourt. Harrington sliding down to the three could be in play, as it would make sense to start one of Latrell Davis or Nick Anderson due to their scoring and shooting abilities.<\/p>\n

Torresani, Harrington, Gladden, Davis, and Anderson are a great core to work with, and Dutcher has many options to work with.<\/p>\n

The roster is starting to take shape with Tae Simmons, Luka Skori\u0107, Zachary White, Bear Cherry, and Thokbor Majak on it. One thing is for certain: Dutcher still has his eyes on another defensive\/rebounding big man.<\/p>\n
