fans will be able to <a href=\"https:\/\/mediasetinfinity.mediaset.it\/video\/coppaitalia20252026\/lazio-inter-mercoledi-13-maggio-alle-2100-su-canale-5_FD00000000528490\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">watch the match<\/a> at home on Channel 5 or via streaming at Mediaset Infinity.<\/p>\n<p>Friday, May 15th<\/p>\n<p>General strike \u2013 Italy\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelocal.it\/20260429\/calendar-the-transport-strikes-to-expect-in-italy-in-may-2026\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">second general strike<\/a> of the month (after May 1st Labour Day work stoppages) is scheduled to start on Friday, with union CSLE calling on all public and private sector workers to strike until the end of Saturday, May 16th.<\/p>\n<p>Staff of Milan\u2019s public transport operator ATM have announced a 24-hour strike on Friday that is likely to cause major disruption in the northern city, with local bus strikes also expected in the provinces of Perugia, Padua, Salerno, Terni and Rovigo.<\/p>\n<p>Infiorata di Noto begins \u2013 The Baroque Sicilian city of Noto\u2019s annual infiorata flower petal display opens on Friday and is set to remain in place until Tuesday, May 19th.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s flower carpet is themed around pop art and culture from the 20th century, and can be found on Via Nicolaci in the historic centre.<\/p>\n<p>READ ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelocal.it\/20260422\/whats-on-in-italy-12-events-to-look-forward-to-this-may\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">What&#8217;s on in Italy: 12 events to look forward to this May<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Summer tyre change deadline \u2013 Motorists in Italy have until Friday to switch from winter to summer tyres or face a fine of up to \u20ac1,731 \u2013 though the rule doesn\u2019t apply to everyone.<\/p>\n<p>Check out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelocal.it\/20230504\/explained-do-you-need-to-switch-your-tyres-for-summer-in-italy\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">our guide<\/a> to find out whether you need to make the change.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday, May 16th<\/p>\n<p>Italian Open women&#8217;s finals \u2013 The women&#8217;s finals of this year\u2019s Italian Open tennis tournament, also known as the Internazionali BNL d&#8217;Italia, are set to take place at 11am on Sunday at Rome\u2019s Foro Italico.<\/p>\n<p>People wanting to watch the matches at home can view live on Sky Sport or on streaming catch up with NOW.<\/p>\n<p>Mandatory licence plates for e-scooters \u2013 From Saturday, May 16th, it will <a href=\"https:\/\/tg24.sky.it\/cronaca\/2026\/05\/08\/targa-monopattino-elettrico-come-fare?card=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">become compulsory<\/a> for all e-scooters in Italy to display a small adhesive licence &#8220;plate&#8221; or face a fine of between \u20ac100 and \u20ac400.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday, May 17th<\/p>\n<p>Festa della Sensa \u2013 Sunday will see Venice celebrate its relationship with water with the annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.veneziaunica.it\/it\/cosa-fare-a-venezia\/eventi\/festa-della-sensa-2026\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Festa della Sensa<\/a> (Ascension Festival).<\/p>\n<p>The festival traditionally saw the city&#8217;s rulers (a role that in modern times is performed by the mayor) cast a gold ring into the lagoon to celebrate the \u2018marriage\u2019 between Venice and the sea.
