It was recently announced that the Princess of Wales would be taking a two-day trip to Italy on May 13 and it would be her first tour since her cancer diagnosis in 2024. Even though you might think that people would be thrilled that Kate feels well enough to start touring again, there\u2019s been some online backlash ever since the announcement. Some are not convinced on the reason for her visit to Italy while some are wondering if Kate is looking to tour again due to Prince Harry<\/a> and Meghan Markle\u2019s recent trip to Australia. <\/p>\n Kate Middleton is taking a royal tour of Italy, which is the first trip abroad since her cancer diagnosis. According to People<\/a>, Kate Middleton is feeling \u201centhused\u201d and \u201cexcited\u201d about her two-day trip to Italy starting on May 13 because not only is it her first big trip abroad since her cancer diagnosis in 2024, but it\u2019s also for a cause that\u2019s supposedly close to her heart. <\/p>\n The Princess of Wales is set to visit Reggio Emilia, which is a Northern city in Italy \u201cthat has pioneered new thinking in education and raising children,\u201d which is perfectly in line with Kate\u2019s ongoing work and passion around helping young kids get a decent education around the world, per the magazine. <\/p>\n A royal aide divulged how this trip marks an \u201cimportant step\u201d in Kate\u2019s ongoing recovery. \u201cShe takes great joy from this work. I think it is only right that her first international trip since her illness is one that is focused on an issue that is committed to championing for decades to come and is a real issue that she wants to shine a spotlight on,\u201d the royal aide shared. <\/p>\n A lot of people online are unimpressed with Kate\u2019s alleged passion in early years education. <\/p>\n A lot of folks in this Reddit thread<\/a> couldn\u2019t help but share their skepticism when it comes to Kate\u2019s royal trip abroad to Italy that\u2019s supposed to have ties to early childhood education. <\/p>\n One person in the Reddit comments shared, \u201cLol, what? She has no credentials in education, no experience in education \u2013 why Italy? This is so stupid!\u201d Another individual wondered why there\u2019s not more of a push for looking at early childhood education in her own country. \u201cSomeone should tell Kate there are people with degrees in early childhood education in the UK. She could probably phone one of them up to find out what the Reggio Emilia approach is. For a lot cheaper,\u201d they wrote. <\/p>\n A few people in the Reddit comments are also perplexed about what Kate has accomplished so far in this mission for the kids. \u201cEarly childhood!? Lord they\u2019re still pushing that supposed interest. Please someone tell me what is it that Kate has done that shows anything but a surface level interest in early childhood? There is literally the most minimal community engagement when it comes to her and this cause,\u201d they wrote. <\/p>\n Another Reddit user thinks there are more qualified professionals who should be doing this kind of research and work abroad. \u201cI\u2019m really not sure why they are trying to make Early Years her life\u2019s work. The Department for Education have a very large unit dedicated to this and they spend a lot of money on research from properly qualified professionals. I\u2019m really not sure what Kate \u2013 who has no qualifications in this area \u2013 can add to it,\u201d they wrote.<\/p>\n Does her tour have anything to do with online chatter about Meghan and Harry\u2019s trips abroad? Does Kate\u2019s sudden trip abroad to Italy have anything to do with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle\u2019s recent tour to Australia or even Harry\u2019s recent trip to surprise visit to Ukraine? Perhaps things are feeling a little competitive between the two couples and their royal duties and travels. <\/p>\n Someone in the Reddit thread asked, \u201cIs Meghan about to do another tour?\u201d One person in the replies shared, \u201cNo. I think the chatter of people asking why she can travel abroad for vacations 10 times a month to sunbathe in Mustique or ski in the Alps but can\u2019t tour is getting through to her,\u201d they wrote. <\/p>\n Another person in the thread shared their thoughts. \u201cTo add to the other comment, when the Sussexes were on tour a couple weeks back there were a lot of angry, vocal Wales fans complaining that WanK haven\u2019t done a tour since 2022.
