{"id":15728,"date":"2026-05-13T16:37:27","date_gmt":"2026-05-13T16:37:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/italy\/15728\/"},"modified":"2026-05-13T16:37:27","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T16:37:27","slug":"princess-kate-gets-rapturous-welcome-as-she-arrives-in-italy-on-first-solo-trip-after-cancer-recovery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/italy\/15728\/","title":{"rendered":"Princess Kate gets rapturous welcome as she arrives in Italy on first solo trip after cancer recovery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A huge crowd of adoring royal fans have turned out to greet the Princess of Wales as she stepped out in Italy for her first solo work trip abroad in four years.<\/p>\n<p>Catherine was seen smiling and waving at those who had gathered in Reggio Emilia, in the city\u2019s north, for a glimpse of her as she kicked off her official engagements.<\/p>\n<p>The last time she was overseas on a work trip was back in 2022, well before she was diagnosed with cancer and subsequently underwent a course of chemotherapy treatment.<\/p>\n<p>The solo Italian trip is part of her years-long work with her Royal Foundation for Early Childhood.<\/p>\n<p>Sources have described it as a \u201cfact-finding mission\u201d, according to The Sun, and is projected to be the first of many more similar international trips.<\/p>\n<p>In recognition of her dedication to early childhood work, the future queen is being honoured with the city of Reggio Emilia\u2019s highest honour, the \u201cPrimo Tricolore\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>There was certainly a huge local buzz around her arrival, with excited fans heard cheering their approval as she stepped out of her car in the town square on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>At one point, Kate was heard saying \u201cparlo un po\u2019 d\u2019italiano. Come ti chiami? Io sono Caterina\u201d, which translates to \u201cI speak a bit of Italian. What is your name?
