Regional stability and efforts to
\nreduce tensions in the Middle East topped talks between Kurdistan Region
\nPresident Nechirvan Barzani and Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign
\nMinister Antonio Tajani in Rome on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The two sides stressed<\/a> the need to deepen
\nties between Italy, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region, across various fields, with
\nBarzani reiterating Erbil and Baghdad’s appreciation for Rome\u2019s continued
\nsupport and cooperation. <\/p>\n

For his part, Tajani described the Region
\nas \u201can important factor\u201d in regional stability and expressed his country\u2019s
\nreadiness to expand joint cooperation with both Iraq and Kurdistan.<\/p>\n

President Barzani departed for Rome
\non Sunday for a two-day official visit to Italy and the Vatican. He previously
\nmet with\u00a0Pope Leo<\/a>\u00a0XIV, Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal
\nPietro Parolin, Italian President Sergio Mattarella, and Italian Defense
\nMinister Guido Crosetto, where discussions focused on bilateral relations as
