West Ham’s Tomas Soucek tucked his penalty away for the Czechs.

In the inter-confederation tournament over in Mexico, five confederations did battle for the final two spots at this year’s World Cup.

Jamaica took on DR Congo having seen off New Caledonia in their semi-final, while Bolivia faced off against Iraq after sneaking past Suriname.

World Cup play-offs results in full

Wales 1-1 Bosnia-Herzegovina (Bosnia-Herzegovina won 4-2 on pens)

Italy 2-0 Northern Ireland

Denmark 4-0 North Macedonia

Czech Republic 2-2 Ireland (Czech Republic won 4-3 on pens)

Czech Republic 1-1 Denmark (Czech Republic won 3-1 on pens)

Bosnia-Herzegovina 1-1 Italy (Bosnia-Herzegovina won 4-1 on pens)

Inter-confederation play-offs

New Caledonia 0-1 Jamaica

Italy missed out on playing at the World Cup for a third straight time after the Azzurri were…

[2
1033,5,495
0":"post-1888","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-italy","8":"tag-dr-congo","9":"tag-italy","10":"tag-sweden
["GET
