{"id":25554,"date":"2026-06-18T06:41:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-18T06:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/italy\/25554\/"},"modified":"2026-06-18T06:41:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T06:41:08","slug":"italian-aristocrat-eyed-in-twisted-sarajevo-human-safari-killings-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/italy\/25554\/","title":{"rendered":"Italian aristocrat eyed in twisted Sarajevo &#8216;human safari&#8217; killings: report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An Italian aristocrat obsessed with collecting military weaponry is accused of paying a hefty sum to hunt innocent people during the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/05\/20\/world-news\/austria-investigating-wealthy-citizen-accused-of-paying-to-shoot-people-in-human-safari-trips\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">twisted \u201chuman safari\u201d killings<\/a> under the cover of the Bosnian war.<\/p>\n<p>The unidentified man, who comes from a wealthy family from Milan, allegedly cashed high amounts of money to join snipers in Sarajevo during the mid-90s war, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/world\/europe\/article\/italian-noble-investigated-over-sarajevo-human-safari-killings-r3ppvlppl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">according to The Times of London<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The trigger-happy killers allegedly stationed themselves with Serbian gunmen on hills above the Bosnian city, where the foreigners fired at citizens below as war ravaged the area.<\/p>\n<p>A Bosnian special forces soldier returns fire as Serbian snipers fire upon him and a group of civilians in downtown Sarajevo on April 6, 1992. AFP via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The man is wanted for questioning by magistrates in Italy. He allegedly boasted multiple times about his trip to Sarajevo during dinner conversations with his close pals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was approached by a witness who reported the aristocrat had boasted to friends about the safari more than once over dinner,\u201d investigative writer Ezio Gavazzeni told the outlet. \u201cI believe the friends have also been questioned.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Italian investigators have already questioned four alleged shooters since allegations of the high society murder tours first came out in the 2022 documentary \u201cSarajevo Safari.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The home of one of the suspects was raided and a silencer was recovered on Wednesday by police in the city of Alessandria, 60 miles south of Milan, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>The man had allegedly told his ex-partner that he had flown to Sarajevo with \u201cpeople who became snipers at weekends to kill Muslims.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A Serbian fighter on the Bosnian side takes aim with a sniper on Sept. 6, 1992. Corbis\/VCG via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The ex-partner, who was not identified, showed police a photo of a permit the man had used to enter the war zones and tallys he kept of his alleged kills, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>More than 10,000 people were killed in Sarajevo by snipers and shelling between 1992 and 1996.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Gavazzeni previously uncovered evidence that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/11\/12\/world-news\/rich-sniper-tourists-allegedly-paid-90k-to-shoot-civilians-including-kids-during-human-safari-trips-to-sarajevo\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">sniper tourists paid north<\/a>\u00a0of $90,000 to shoot people, including women and kids.<\/p>\n<p>A man runs for cover while crossing a street to avoid snipers in Sarajevo on May 31, 1992.
