{"id":25743,"date":"2026-06-18T18:39:39","date_gmt":"2026-06-18T18:39:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/italy\/25743\/"},"modified":"2026-06-18T18:39:39","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T18:39:39","slug":"conio-secures-micar-licence-in-italy-to-provide-crypto-asset-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/italy\/25743\/","title":{"rendered":"Conio secures MiCAR licence in Italy to provide crypto-asset services"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">Conio has secured a Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR) licence in Italy, enabling it to operate as a crypto-asset service provider (CASP).<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">The authorisation follows an assessment involving markets regulator Consob and the opinion of the Bank of Italy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">In a statement, Conio said the \u201cachievement\u201d concludes a regulatory process designed to make its services available to a \u201cbroad and diverse audience\u201d, while meeting EU requirements.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">The approval comes ahead of 30 June 2026, following which firms without CASP authorisation will no longer be permitted to offer crypto services in Italy and across the EU.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">Conio, which is owned by Poste Italiane and Banca Generali, said its technology supports three customer segments.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">This includes retail users, who can access custody and administration services for digital assets via the Conio mobile app.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">Banks and fintechs can integrate Conio\u2019s infrastructure through \u201cwhite-label solutions\u201d to provide crypto-native and compliant services to their customers.
