{"id":27610,"date":"2026-06-26T08:01:07","date_gmt":"2026-06-26T08:01:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/italy\/27610\/"},"modified":"2026-06-26T08:01:07","modified_gmt":"2026-06-26T08:01:07","slug":"italy-to-join-us-led-pax-silica-ai-initiative-despite-trump-row","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/italy\/27610\/","title":{"rendered":"Italy to Join US-Led Pax Silica AI Initiative Despite Trump Row"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ROME, June 26 (Reuters) &#8211; Italy will \u2060join \u2060the U.S.-led Pax Silica \u2060initiative on artificial intelligence supply chains despite \u200ba row between Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and U.S. President \u200cDonald Trump, a foreign \u200cministry official said.<\/p>\n<p>Ambassador Armando Varricchio told Friday&#8217;s Corriere \u2060della \u2060Sera daily that Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and \u200bU.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio would sign a memorandum of understanding &#8220;at the first available opportunity&#8221;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This provides a political \u200bbasis that demonstrates the willingness to resume from where we \u2060had \u2060temporarily left off,&#8221; Varricchio \u2060said.<\/p>\n<p>Pax \u200bSilica is a U.S. State Department initiative bringing together allied \u200bcountries to secure \u2060AI-related supply chains, covering areas ranging from energy and critical minerals to advanced manufacturing and AI models.
