{"id":31799,"date":"2026-07-13T10:13:12","date_gmt":"2026-07-13T10:13:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/italy\/31799\/"},"modified":"2026-07-13T10:13:12","modified_gmt":"2026-07-13T10:13:12","slug":"italy-rai-confirms-participation-at-eurovision-2027","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/italy\/31799\/","title":{"rendered":"Italy: RAI confirms participation at Eurovision 2027"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>RAI, the Italian national broadcaster, has confirmed to ESCToday that Italy will participate at the forthcoming 2027 Eurovision Song Contest in Bulgaria next year.<\/p>\n<p>Thus\u00a0Italy\u00a0joins the<a href=\"https:\/\/esctoday.com\/205685\/eurovision-2027-how-many-countries-will-compete-in-bulgaria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">\u00a0list of countries<\/a> that have so far confirmed their participation at the 2027 Eurovision edition.<\/p>\n<p>The 2027 Italian Eurovision act and entry will be yet again determined via the Italian Sanremo Song Festival as has been tradition in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>A special <a href=\"https:\/\/esctoday.com\/206063\/italy-stefano-de-martino-reveals-sanremo-2027-plans-including-dedicated-eurovision-night\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Eurovision night is expected to be held during the Sanremo<\/a> week, namely on the fourth night (Friday), where the 2027 Italian Eurovision act and entry will be determined, as reported by the Italian media.<\/p>\n<p>The Sanremo Song Festival 2027 is scheduled to be held from 16-20 February with the Grand Final scheduled to be held on Saturday 20th February.<\/p>\n<p>The rules and regulations for Sanmreo 2027 are yet to be published by RAI.<\/p>\n<p>Italy in Eurovision<\/p>\n<p>Italy is one of the founder members of the Eurovision Song Contest having debuted in the very first contest in 1956. The country has won the event thrice with\u00a0Gigliola Cinquetti\u00a0(1964),\u00a0Toto Cutugno\u00a0(1990) and\u00a0Maneskin\u00a0(2021).<\/p>\n<p>The country has been represented at the Eurovision Song Contest by its most celebrated and internationally acclaimed artists throughout its Eurovision history:\u00a0Ana Oxa, Domenico Modugno, Albano, Romina Power, Franco Batiatto, Umberto Tozzi, Matia Bazar, Marco Mengoni, Emma Marrone, Il Volo,\u00a0Francesco\u00a0Gabbani, Raphael Gualazzi, Massimo Ranieri, Ricardo Fogli, Mahmood\u00a0etc.<\/p>\n<p>Italy withdrew from the competition in 1998 and returned to Eurovision in 2011 after a 13 year hiatus.
