\n\tThe property joins W Rome<\/a> and the recently opened W Florence,<\/a> giving the Marriott-owned luxury lifestyle brand three markedly different interpretations of Italy. Guests can now visit all three through W\u2019s \u201cItalian Tour,\u201d <\/a>a new travel offer combining suite accommodations and locally inspired food and drink experiences in Florence,\u00a0Rome\u00a0and Sardinia.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWe don\u2019t need to reinvent it,\u201d Brad Wulff, the vice president and global brand leader at W Hotels, tells Variety. \u201cW Hotels has always been at its best when\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0a little ahead of where culture is headed, whether that\u2019s design, music, fashion,\u00a0nightlife\u00a0or the way people come together. Our job now is to take that DNA and make it relevant for how people live and travel today.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tThat evolution is\u00a0immediately\u00a0visible at W Sardinia, which occupies a collection of whitewashed buildings built into the rocky coastline surrounding the village\u2019s marina. Its 157 rooms and suites are conceived as grotto-like retreats, with textured stone, curved\u00a0details\u00a0and reflective surfaces that evoke the surrounding water.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cSardinia has this incredible duality,\u201d Wulff says. \u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0obviously beautiful, but it also has a wildness to it. It\u00a0doesn\u2019t\u00a0feel overly polished or predictable. And\u00a0Poltu\u00a0Quatu\u00a0in particular has\u00a0this sense of discovery. You arrive and feel like\u00a0you\u2019ve\u00a0found something unique.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tThe resort is centered around its marina and WET Deck pool, while its food and beverage offerings include TANIT, a waterfront restaurant led by chef Antonio Bitetto. Named after an ancient goddess associated with abundance, the restaurant emphasizes Sardinian seafood and\u00a0produce\u00a0and overlooks the yachts moving through the harbor. A dedicated pastry room overseen by Italian pastry chef Fabrizio Fiorani makes breakfast one of the property\u2019s more elaborate dining experiences.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tGuests can also travel across the bay to the hotel\u2019s beach club on nearby islands.\u00a0An\u00a0ideal day at the property\u00a0might look like a\u00a0coffee at TANIT, followed by a boat ride to the beach and an aperitivo back at the hotel as the sun sets.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tThat balance between seclusion and activity is central to the property\u2019s intended appeal.\u00a0\u201cThey don\u2019t necessarily want to choose between a restorative escape and a social, cultural experience,\u201d Wulff\u00a0says of\u00a0today\u2019s luxury traveler. \u201cW Sardinia gives you both and lets you decide when you want each one.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\tW Rome<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\tW Florence<\/p>\n \n\tThe Sardinia resort also gives W a coastal counterpart to its two urban Italian hotels. W Rome, which opened in 2021, is housed inside a historic palazzo near the Spanish Steps and\u00a0contains\u00a0148 rooms and suites. Its restaurants and nightlife spaces include Giano, the Sicilian-inspired restaurant from chef Ciccio Sultano; the cocktail-focused W Lounge; and\u00a0Citrico\u00a0Rooftop, which serves naturally leavened pizza and Mediterranean dishes overlooking the city. A sixth-floor WET Deck offers a plunge pool and another gathering space above the capital.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tW Florence, meanwhile, opened with 119 rooms near Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. The property blends contemporary interiors with references to Florentine architecture,\u00a0art\u00a0and Medici history, including a custom reception mural depicting exotic animals once associated with the ruling family\u2019s collection.
