European Energy said the transaction is among the \u201cfirst financings in Italy for an agrivoltaic project of this size and complexity.\u201d<\/p>\n
Vizzini has been awarded a 20-year Contract for Difference (CfD) under\u00a0Italy\u2019s FER X\u00a0renewable energy support scheme<\/a>, providing the project with long-term revenue visibility.<\/p>\n The FER X scheme is designed to accelerate renewable energy deployment in Italy and support the country\u2019s 2030 targets. In June, the\u00a0European Commission approved the \u20ac23 billion (US$26.5 billion)\u00a0scheme<\/a>\u00a0under its\u00a0Clean Industrial Deal State Aid Framework (CISAF<\/a>), supporting the deployment of more than 37.15GW of new renewable energy capacity, and which was recently approved by the Minister of Environment and Energy Security<\/a>.<\/p>\n The scheme covers onshore wind, solar PV,\u00a0hydropower\u00a0and sewage gas projects. According to the EC, the supported projects would add capacity equivalent to around 48% of Italy\u2019s current installed renewable energy base.<\/p>\n \u201cVizzini demonstrates that agrivoltaics can move beyond development into large-scale construction and financing. That is important not only for Vizzini, but also for the development of the agrivoltaic market in Italy,\u201d said Filippo Ricci, country manager of Italy, European Energy.<\/p>\n Outside of Italy,\u00a0European Energy recently secured \u00a358.1 million (US$78.45 million)<\/a>\u00a0to finance a\u00a068MW solar PV and 47.5MW\/95MWh BESS project in Cornwall, UK. The Indian Queens hybrid project, which began construction in May, is expected to enter commercial operation in 2027.<\/p>\n The financing follows several recent project developments for the company, including module installation at its\u00a0100MW Winton North solar project in Australia<\/a>.
