{"id":42330,"date":"2026-08-25T17:16:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-25T17:16:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/italy\/42330\/"},"modified":"2026-08-25T17:16:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-25T17:16:09","slug":"usa-network-orders-rome-set-medical-drama-diplomatic-immunity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/italy\/42330\/","title":{"rendered":"USA Network Orders Rome-Set Medical Drama &#8216;Diplomatic Immunity&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/usa-network\/\" id=\"auto-tag_usa-network\" data-tag=\"usa-network\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">USA Network<\/a> has added a third original drama series to its lineup: The cabler has given a straight-to-series order for \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/diplomatic-immunity\/\" id=\"auto-tag_diplomatic-immunity\" data-tag=\"diplomatic-immunity\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Diplomatic Immunity<\/a>,\u201d an hour-long medical drama written by <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/matt-corman\/\" id=\"auto-tag_matt-corman\" data-tag=\"matt-corman\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Matt Corman<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/chris-ord\/\" id=\"auto-tag_chris-ord\" data-tag=\"chris-ord\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chris Ord<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe series joins \u201cThe Rainmaker\u201d and the recently launched \u201cAnna Pigeon\u201d as original scripted series on USA Network, which has been aiming to bolster its homegrown content under new parent company Versant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/fox-entertainment-studios\/\" id=\"auto-tag_fox-entertainment-studios\" data-tag=\"fox-entertainment-studios\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fox Entertainment Studios<\/a> is the producer on \u201cDiplomatic Immunity,\u201d and the company\u2019s Fox Entertainment Global arm will distribute the series internationally. (Other scripted series from Fox Entertainment Studios produced for an outlet other than Fox include the recently announced \u201cChange of Heart\u201d for Hallmark, and several animated series with A24 for Amazon.) Corman and Ord are the series\u2019 writers, executive producers and showrunners.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAccording to the logline for \u201cDiplomatic Immunity,\u201d the series \u201ccenters on a young American doctor who is suddenly assigned to the medical office at the U.S. Embassy in Rome. He finds himself encountering challenging medical cases that require him to navigate diplomacy, government personalities and geopolitical situations \u2014 all while managing the romantic entanglements set against the thrill of a new life in a new country.\u201d Casting has not yet started.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThis reps a homecoming of sorts for Corman and Ord, who previously created the action drama \u201cCovert Affairs\u201d (starring Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham) for USA, which aired that show for five seasons, from 2010 to 2014.
