{"id":43578,"date":"2026-08-31T05:38:19","date_gmt":"2026-08-31T05:38:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/italy\/43578\/"},"modified":"2026-08-31T05:38:19","modified_gmt":"2026-08-31T05:38:19","slug":"nasas-nancy-grace-roman-space-telescope-launches-to-study-universes-biggest-mysteries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/italy\/43578\/","title":{"rendered":"NASA\u2019s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope launches to study universe\u2019s biggest mysteries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"770\" height=\"578\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/italy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/roman-telescope-1024x768.png\" class=\"wp-image-4475262 attachment-large size-large wp-post-image\" alt=\"Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope launching\"  \/>Photo Courtesy: NASANancy Grace Roman Space Telescope launching<\/p>\n<p>FLORIDA, USA (WWAY) \u2014 NASA\u2019s newest space telescope launched Sunday from Kennedy Space Center in Florida, beginning a mission to study some of the universe\u2019s biggest mysteries.<\/p>\n<p>The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope will travel to a point beyond the moon, where scientists will use its observations to better understand how the universe has evolved.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Matthew Bolcar, the telescope\u2019s optical systems lead, said Roman will map the structure of the universe by examining how stars, galaxies and matter are distributed across space.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are looking for mapping out the structure of the universe,\u201d Bolcar said. \u201cWe\u2019re looking for how stars are distributed, how galaxies are shaped, how all this matter is distributed across the universe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scientists will use that information to study the effects of dark matter and dark energy, two of the biggest unanswered questions in modern astronomy.<\/p>\n<p>Bolcar said the telescope is expected to transmit about 1.4 terabytes of data each day.
