ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) \u2014 Floyd County commissioners voted Monday to approve costs associated with work to stabilize Rome\u2019s historic courthouse after it was destroyed in a March fire. <\/p>\n
Many are wondering whether the courthouse should be rebuilt or if it should be demolished to build a new one. Now, leaders want crews to get on the site so they can advise them on what\u2019s next. <\/p>\n
\u201cWhether we take it apart brick by brick or whether we demolish it and start over,\u201d County Manager Jamie McCord said. \u201cI mean, we\u2019ve just got a lot of unanswered questions right now.\u201d<\/p>\n
It\u2019s a costly project, at about half a million dollars, according to McCord, who also said it\u2019s necessary. <\/p>\n
