{"id":44640,"date":"2026-09-03T10:55:24","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T10:55:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/italy\/44640\/"},"modified":"2026-09-03T10:55:24","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T10:55:24","slug":"fia-confirms-special-measures-as-italian-gp-heat-hazard-declared","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/italy\/44640\/","title":{"rendered":"FIA confirms special measures as Italian GP heat hazard declared"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The FIA has declared a heat hazard ahead of this weekend\u2019s Italian Grand Prix at Monza.<\/p>\n<p>It marks the first race to be affected by a heat hazard since the Austrian Grand Prix in June.<\/p>\n<p>FIA declares heat hazard for Italian Grand Prix at Monza<\/p>\n<p>With temperatures set to exceed 31.0 \u00b0C at Monza, the FIA has declared the Italian Grand Prix a heat hazard event.<\/p>\n<p>In a note issued to teams on Thursday, the FIA\u2019s race director Rui Marques wrote: \u201cIn accordance with Article B1.5.10 of the FIA F1 Regulations, having received a forecast from the Official Weather Service predicting that the Heat Index will be greater than 31.0 \u00b0C at some time during the Race at this Competition, a Heat Hazard is declared.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Preview: Italian Grand Prix<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/features\/italian-grand-prix-2026-predictions\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Italian GP predictions: Antonelli disaster, McLaren surprise, civil war breaks out<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/news\/f1-schedule-next-race-calendar\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">F1 schedule: When is the next race and where is it being held?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Formula 1\u2019s heat hazard protocol was introduced in 2025 in response to the events of the 2023 Qatar Grand Prix, where a number of drivers were affected by intense heat.<\/p>\n<p>The procedure requires teams to fit advanced driver cooling systems to the cars, resulting in an increase in the minimum weight to accommodate the extra equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Drivers also have the option of wearing a special cooling vest to help deal with the conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Want to be the first to know exclusive information from the F1 paddock?
