There’s more of an expanded non-pasta section at Romano’s, offering chicken scaloppine and shrimp Portofino, but that’s not the most jarring part. Under the pasta section, you’ll see Mama’s Trio, which might sound like three types of pasta. It’s not. It’s chicken parm, lasagna bolognese, and fettuccine Alfredo. There’s some 15-layer lasagna, which is good because you and I simply will not eat lasagna with 14 or fewer layers. My personal favorite? Spaghetti Vesuvius, a pasta dish that features chicken, sausage, diced meatballs, green peppers, onions, Tabasco sauce, and sambal chili paste. It feels odd to name a dish at your Italian restaurant after one of the most devastating events in Italian history, but I’m here for it.

More From Cheapism

Pappas Bland/EyeEm/Getty

The Best Burrito in Every State — From hidden gems to local legends, these top-rated burritos across the country prove that incredible, flavor-packed wraps are waiting in every corner of the U.S.

Eddie F. / Yelp Americanized Italian food is huge in the United States, and Italian chain restaurants in…

[2
3687,3685,3686,3688,246,5,3684,3690,3692,3689,3691
0":"post-4983","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-italy","8":"tag-breadsticks","9":"tag-carrabbas-italian-grill","10":"tag-chicken-parm","11":"tag-il-fornaio","12":"tag-italian-food","13":"tag-italy","14":"tag-olive-garden","15":"tag-romanos-macaroni-grill","16":"tag-spaghetti-and-meatballs","17":"tag-spaghetti-warehouse","18":"tag-yelp
["GET
