West Ham United are undoubtedly a stronger team following the January transfer window. Whether the same can be said of AC Milan, who have all-but ceded the Scudetto to rivals Inter, is doubtful at best.<\/p>\n

The Rossoneri are not only coming under fire for those they did sign, but also those they did not.<\/p>\n

According to reports, AC Milan have decided against signing Niclas Fullkrug<\/a> permanently already, following one goal in 15 Serie A matches for the West Ham United<\/a> loanee. <\/p>\n

They say never fall in love with a loan player, but we\u2019ve all done it before \ud83d\ude02 <\/p>\n

Veteran reporter Carlo Pellegatti<\/a>, meanwhile, cannot see the logic in Milan backing away from Chelsea misfit Axel Disasi<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Especially when the ownership would find over \u00a330 million down the back of the sofa to spend on Jean-Philippe Mateta.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe AC Milan we\u2019ve seen in the first months of 2026 aren\u2019t brilliant. They\u2019re not entertaining, and they\u2019re not spectacular,\u201d Pellegatti says, in quotes reported by Milan News<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cMax Allegri had sent his SOS to the ownership last December because the team needed reinforcements to continue fighting for the Scudetto. But, cold as a rattlesnake\u2019s blood, the management responded; \u2018No money. No euros\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Milan\u2019s owners] stopped them from trying to sign Disasi, who was useful at least in terms of quality. Then, suddenly, they found 30 to 40 million euros for poor [Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe] Mateta, who was struggling with a serious injury.\u201d<\/p>\n

Disasi has been an ever-present in the Premier League <\/p>\n

So impressive following that deadline day move to the London Stadium, the feeling is that Disasi may be willing to stay at West Ham<\/a> if Nuno Espirito Santo<\/a> can secure another season of Premier League football.<\/p>\n

The five-time France international has started every top-flight match since his arrival. <\/p>\n

Milan, in contrast, have been without the injured Matteo Gabbia for five successive Serie A games. Young Koni de Winter has struggled to convince in Gabbia\u2019s absence, blamed in some quarters for the Matteo Politano goal which saw Napoli leapfrog Massimiliano Allegri\u2019s side into second last weekend.<\/p>\n

Pellegatti claimed, shortly after West Ham signed the forgotten man of Stamford Bridge on February 1st, that Allegri was keen to work with Disasi at the San Siro<\/a>. Therefore, scotching rumours that it was the head coach who vetoed his arrival.<\/p>\n
