Kim Jones is relaunching his eponymous label from Japan. The British designer, formerly of Fendi and Dior, who was recruited a year ago by Bosideng to take the creative helm at Areal, is bringing his brand back to the fore with an Autumn/Winter 2027 collection.

According to international press reports, the brand will be produced almost entirely in Japan, with the exception of leather goods, which will be made in Italy, and will debut on the market at a price point described as “accessible.” The collection “puts versatility at its core” and will offer “a broader wardrobe, unbound by traditional categories,” explained the London-based designer.
The pieces, to be sold exclusively on the new brand’s official website at launch, will later also be available at a flagship store set to open at Central Yards in Hong Kong, to be followed by further openings across Asia.
“After many years spent collaborating with extraordinary maisons and creatives, I feel the time has come to return to signing a project with my own name. This venture brings together everything I’ve always been passionate about — fashion, art, and design — and gives me the space to collaborate with people I admire and to explore new ideas. I am truly excited about what lies ahead,” said Jones.
The designer stepped down as creative director of Dior Men (LVMH) in January 2025. Shortly beforehand, he had announced his departure from Fendi, where he headed womenswear and couture. He also led Louis Vuitton’s menswear line for more than seven years, significantly rejuvenating its image.
Born in 1979, Jones began his career in 2003 with his debut at London Fashion Week and the launch of his own label, which was later put on hold. He has also collaborated with Alexander McQueen, Umbro, Hugo Boss, and Iceberg.
