Tony Jiang and Mandy Lin, the husband-and-wife couple behind Coco Cuisine, have now opened Hokkaido Revolving Sushi Bar at 1466 Bethel Road, just a few blocks from their other restaurant. The new spot features sushi that will circulate on tracks with customers invited to grab what looks good. Other Japanese specialties like ramen, hibachi and poke bowls will be delivered to tables on special carts. In a release, Jiang said of the options, “If there’s a whole family here, they probably all don’t want sushi.”

Families can eat for a predictable price, however, with all-you-can eat dinners costing $17.95 for children and $35.95 for adults. The price covers a two-hour dining window and is reduced at lunchtime. To keep the sushi coming quickly, Jiang purchased a sushi slicer for the kitchen that can cut 3,000 pieces per minute. Hokkaido is open daily for lunch and dinner.
Ray Ray’s asks community for support in Granville
James Anderson, owner of the Ray Ray’s Hog Pit barbecue chain, recently shared in the Granville in the Know Facebook group that he was seeking community support. “With the dark nights, it’s been pretty slow lately and we could really use the community support to keep us going,” the post reads in part. “I’m a small business owner living right here in Granville and your support would mean a lot.” Though Granville in the Know is a private group, screen shots of the message were circulated elsewhere.
Ray Ray’s has recently expanded, with new restaurants opening in Marion and Clintonville earlier this year, following the closure of Ray Ray’s food truck at Ace of Cups. The Granville restaurant at 1256 Columbus Road is one of seven Ray Ray’s restaurants. Anderson did not respond to an emailed request for comment on this story.
