The U.S. women’s national team faces Japan on Saturday, April 11 in the first of three matches against the Nadeshiko.

It’s been a perfect start to 2026 for the USWNT, which has won all five of its games this year by a combined score of 15-0.

That included a successful run through the SheBelieves Cup last month, as Emma Hayes side won the title with wins over Argentina, Canada and Colombia.

Japan is coming off a title at the 2026 Asian Cup, defeating host nation Australia 1-0 in the final on March 21.

These teams last met in the 2025 SheBelieves Cup, with Japan defeating the USWNT 2-1 to win the tournament title.

Following Saturday’s game, the USWNT and Japan will face off two more times: Tuesday, April 14 at Lumen Field in Seattle and Friday, April 17 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado.

USWNT vs Japan prediction, pick

The USWNT dominated Canada 3-0 in their most recent meeting last summer. Canada looks like an improved side from that match, but the U.S. should still have enough to edge out its rival in this one.

Prediction: USWNT 1, Canada 0
