Hotel Floria Tokyo: Sanrio Characters Exhibition in Shinjuku - News and Statistics

A Sanrio-themed exhibition in Tokyo allows visitors to check in but not stay overnight, according to a report from Euronews Travel published on July 27, 2026.

The exhibition, titled Hotel Floria Tokyo – Sanrio Characters Exhibition, is located in Tokyo’s Shinjuku-ku ward at the Tokyu Kabukicho Tower. It is less than a ten-minute walk from several train stations.

Guests can tour themed rooms featuring Sanrio characters such as Cinnamoroll, My Melody, and Hello Kitty. The exhibit first debuted in Seoul, Korea, and was created by the digital design and art company Dstrict.

A spokesperson for Hotel Floria Tokyo said the exhibition is set in a hotel filled with the characters’ dreams, with each room and installation designed to let visitors discover the characters’ personalities and charm.

The exhibition runs in Tokyo until May 2027 and includes 11 themed rooms. General weekday entry starts at 2,400 yen, approximately 12.87 euros, with slightly higher prices on weekends and holidays.

At reception, guests receive a character-designed Luc-key entry pass, but the character is assigned at random, similar to a Sanrio blind box. After the lobby, visitors can explore rooms, a garden, a pond, an art gallery, and an indoor beach experience. The exhibition also features a dedicated photo zone.

Hotel Floria Tokyo said the experience goes beyond taking photographs, allowing guests to walk through and explore the worlds, creating a feeling of becoming part of the story. The organisers noted that adults can reconnect with childhood memories and nostalgia, while children can discover the characters for the first time.

The exhibition’s recommended area for those with limited time is the Beach Zone. There, a floor-to-ceiling screen displays pink hues as part of an ocean sunset, while real sand is underfoot. A statue of Hello Kitty stands beside a pink surfboard, and the character Pochacco is depicted playing in the sand nearby.

Organisers said visitors do more than watch images on a screen; as they walk across real sand, the visuals, sound, and sensation combine into a seamless experience. They added that visitors can walk through the dreamlike scenery and experience it with all their senses, which makes the Beach Zone special.
