Two international Space Mountain attractions were highlighted at D23’s Disney Experiences Showcase on Saturday night. Fans got a brand new look at what they’ll experience when the all-new Space Mountain Earthrise opens next year at Tokyo Disneyland. And over in Disneyland Paris, that park’s unique Space Mountain will restore and refresh its original Jules Verne-inspired theme. Here’s what we learned:

Tokyo Disneyland’s all-new Space Mountain Earthrise will be an out-of-this-world thrill!
Tokyo Disneyland‘s brand new Space Mountain will officially be called “Space Mountain Earthrise.” The state-of-the-art attraction replaces the park’s original Space Mountain from the ground up and will take riders on a thrilling journey through the cosmos, letting them experience the “wonder of Earth” like never before. According to Imagineer Ali Rubentein at the Disney Experiences Showcase at D23 2026, Space Mountain Earthrise is a “bold new take” on the classic Space Mountain that is a “celebration of what makes our planet so special.” The new Space Mountain will be full of all-new special effects, lighting features, and more that give riders a fresh perspective on space travel. Disneyland Paris restores Space Mountain’s Jules Verne-inspired experience
While Tokyo Disneyland debuts an all-new take on the classic Space Mountain, Disneyland Paris’ Space Mountain is going back to its roots. The Disneyland Paris version of Space Mountain opened in 1995 and was based on the Jules Verne classic “From the Earth to the Moon.” The attraction was relaunched with a “Mission 2” version in 2005, and then received the Star Wars-themed Hyperspace Mountain overlay in 2017.

Hyperspace Mountain will close in 2027. When the attraction reopens, the attraction’s original name and theme, Space Mountain: De La Terre a la Lune will return, with upgraded special effects and a refreshed experience based on the classic version of this unique Disneyland Paris attraction. Fans will be delighted to know the ride’s original custom score will return as well!
So which version of Space Mountain are you most excited for? Tokyo Disneyland’s all-new, modern twist on the classic outerspace rollercoaster?
