Macnica said on August 19 it has signed a distributor agreement with California-based Prophet Security and will begin offering the Prophet Agentic AI SOC Platform, branded as Prophet AI, in Japan, saying it is the first company to offer the platform domestically.

The Yokohama-based technology distributor said the product is designed to improve security operations center, or SOC, workflows by using AI to streamline tasks tied to threat detection, investigation and response. The platform connects with existing security infrastructure including endpoint detection and response tools, security information and event management systems, identity management, cloud, network and email environments.

Prophet AI supports the initial stages of alert handling by generating investigation plans, collecting and analyzing related data, prioritizing alerts and proposing response actions. Macnica said the platform includes an agentic AI model developed with input from specialists with long experience in SOC operations, and is built to let users trace how investigations were conducted and why particular judgments were made.

The platform uses an open design that does not depend on a specific security vendor, allowing integration with a range of security, case management and collaboration tools. It also uses an integrated architecture linking alert triage, threat hunting and detection-rule improvement. The company said Prophet AI can conduct hypothesis-driven threat hunting to quickly verify whether threats are present in a customer’s environment, and analyze existing detection rules and log coverage against the MITRE ATT&CK framework to help optimize detection rules.

Macnica said the platform is intended to help customers retain operational knowledge inside their organizations and carry it forward even when personnel change. It also adapts to individual customer environments and policies by incorporating analyst decisions and organization-specific characteristics.

The launch comes as companies face growing alert volumes and broader monitoring demands as cyberattacks become more sophisticated. In Japan, many companies operate SOC functions internally or through managed security service providers, while a shortage of cybersecurity personnel has remained a persistent issue.

Macnica said it will provide end-to-end support for proof-of-concept testing, technical validation, post-deployment use and integration with other products, drawing on its experience with security tools covering EDR, SIEM, identity, cloud, email and threat intelligence. Macnica operates in 100 locations across 33 countries and regions, with semiconductor and cybersecurity businesses at its core.
