With September officially underway, San Antonio residents have plenty of events to look forward to throughout the month.
Even though the fall season doesn’t officially start until Sept. 22, several San Antonio area attractions are already getting into the spirit with seasonal events.
Also happening throughout September is Hispanic Heritage Month, with several places hosting Hispanic-themed events.

Sept. 1-6 events
BLOCKBUSTERS & BITES: Enjoy a free movie screening of “Despicable Me” at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 4 at The Rock at La Cantera. Tickets are available here.LOCALS DAY AT SAN ANTONIO ZOO: Bexar County residents can enjoy a discounted $8 admission to the San Antonio Zoo on Sept. 13 as part of Locals Day. Several mariachi groups will perform throughout the afternoon. 41ST ANNUAL ZOO RUN: The two-day event will take place on Sept. 11-12.
Sept. 11, there will be a four-mile challenge along with a spirited four-person relay for adults.Sept. 12, the zoo will host the Kids Run.
