However, the outcome could still have geopolitical implications, given Okinawa’s proximity to Taiwan.

The company has pleaded not guilty in the case, which shook China’s relations with both the U.S. and Canada.

The NFL will hold its first-ever regular-season game in the Asia-Pacific region on Friday when the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers clash at the 95,000-seat Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia. The game, which has almost sold out, is part of the powerhouse American league’s international push, with nine regular-season games scheduled outside the United States in the 2026 season.

BRICS Summit

India is set to host the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi over two days, bringing together the group’s members, partner countries and other invitees. Putin is scheduled to attend, while Chinese President Xi Jinping is also widely expected to participate in the conference.
