No longer.The director general of the <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/topics\/international-atomic-energy-agency?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">International Atomic Energy Agency<\/a> (IAEA) has sounded the alarm. Veteran Korea watchers speak of a \u201crationalisation\u201d of nuclear weapons discourse. And a majority of South Koreans tell pollsters they want the bomb.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The debate, long simmering, has come to a roiling boil.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Yet analysts who watch the region closely urge caution before declaring the non-proliferation order in East Asia on the verge of collapse.
