Korea Startup Forum successfully hosted the “2026 Business Trip in Tokyo” event from November 26 to 29, the organization said Thursday.<\/p>\n
The event, held in Tokyo for the second consecutive year, drew 12 companies including Kim Jae-won, chairman of Korea Startup Forum, Choi Ji-young, CEO of Korea Startup Forum, and startups and investment firms from both Korea and Japan. Korea Startup Forum’s “Business Trip in Tokyo” is a program designed to help Korean startups seeking to enter Japan generate local business opportunities. The main goals of the program include identifying collaboration opportunities with Japanese conglomerates and attracting investment from local venture capital (VC) firms.<\/p>\n
On November 27, a “Japan Market Entry Strategy Session” was held at the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) Tokyo IT Center. Keireiji Masataka, former head of Deloitte Japan’s Innovation Business Division and planning lead for SusHi Tech, was invited as a speaker to provide an in-depth look at practical strategies for entering the Japanese market.<\/p>\n
On November 28, the third day of the event, the “2nd Korea-Japan Innovators Night” was held at Ebisu Business Tower, co-hosted by Korea Startup Forum and three partner companies including Shinhan Financial Group and Kiraboshi Bank. The event was attended by about 80 people from Japanese public institutions, investment firms, conglomerates, and related organizations. Participants conducted investor relations (IR) pitching sessions targeting members of the Japanese startup ecosystem, along with networking sessions with Japanese investors, conglomerates, and local Korean entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n
In particular, a panel talk featuring Moon Hyung-il, deputy director of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Song Myung-geun, CEO of Olive Union, Park Young-sik, vice president of Caplix Cloud, and Yuichiro Yamada, CEO of Findy, allowed senior entrepreneurs with experience in both the Japanese and Korean markets to share their on-the-ground insights directly.<\/p>\n
