U.S.\u00a0Air Force\u00a0F-22 Raptors<\/a>\u00a0assigned to the 90th Fighter Squadron,\u00a0Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson<\/a>, Alaska, and the 27th Fighter Squadron,\u00a0Joint Base Langley-Eustis<\/a>, Virginia, arrived at\u00a0Kadena Air Base<\/a>, marking the latest fighter rotation supporting operations across the Indo-Pacific region.
The F-22 Raptor is the Air Force’s premier fifth-generation air superiority fighter, combining stealth, advanced\u00a0sensors\u00a0and unmatched maneuverability to dominate contested environments. Its ability to detect, track and engage adversaries at extended ranges \u2014 while\u00a0remaining\u00a0difficult to detect \u2014 enhances survivability and control of the air domain. \u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n
During the deployment, F-22 aircrews and maintainers will integrate with the 18th Wing’s operations and maintenance groups, as well as joint and allied partners, to refine tactics, strengthen interoperability and sustain readiness for real-world contingencies.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Together, this mix of\u00a0aircraft\u00a0and personnel reinforces the United States’ commitment to defend Japan under the U.S.-Japan security alliance and\u00a0maintain\u00a0a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
