Magnolia has officially set a date for supernatural Japanese horror film, Never After Dark, bringing the pictures to cinemas this Fall. <\/p>\n

The film \u201cfollows Airi (Moeka Hoshi) wandering medium who spends her life guiding restless spirits out of the world of the living. Summoned to an isolated country house, she comes face to face with a grotesque apparition with powers that defy Airi\u2019s experience. As she digs deeper into the house\u2019s past, a secret comes to light \u2014 and Airi finds herself hunted by a far more unpredictable force. For the first time, her greatest adversary is not the supernatural, but the living.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kento Kaku\u00a0(House of Ninjas),\u00a0Kurumi Inagaki\u00a0(House of Ninjas),\u00a0Mutsuo Yoshioka\u00a0(Chime),\u00a0Bokuzo Masana\u00a0(Toyko Vice) and\u00a0Tae Kimura\u00a0(All Around Us) also star.<\/p>\n

Dave Boyle\u00a0wrote\/directed the the film.<\/p>\n

Never After Dark won both the SXSW Midnighter Audience Award and the Grand Jury Prize for Feature Film at the Overlook Film Festival. <\/p>\n

The film is produced by Signal 181, the Tokyo-based production company founded by actor-producer Kaku and Boyle. CEO\u00a0Kosuke Tsutsumi\u00a0also produces alongside Kaku and Boyle, with\u00a0Aram Tertzakian\u00a0of XYZ Films,\u00a0Todd Brown\u00a0and United Lounge Tokyo\u2019s\u00a0Toshiyuki Suzuki\u00a0executive producing.<\/p>\n

Never After Dark raises the dead in theaters on September 25th. <\/p>\n
