Held annually in Taito Ward, the festival draws large crowds as local participants carry the massive shrine through the streets in a display of strength and coordination.

Torigoe Festival 2026 highlights takes place on Sunday, June 7, when the lantern-lit Night Parade returns the mikoshi to the shrine. This creates a striking visual spectacle and a more atmospheric experience compared to the daytime procession. Earlier in the day, the main mikoshi procession begins in the morning, moving through the neighborhood as participants chant and celebrate.

Participants carry the shrine through the surrounding streets as the main mikoshi procession begins at 6:30 am on Sunday, June 7. The festival builds toward the evening, with the Night Parade reaching its peak between 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm as the mikoshi returns to Torigoe Shrine.

                    Information

Start: Jun 6th 2026 at 10:00am

End: Jun 7th 2026 at 9:00pm

Torigoe Shrine

2-4-1 Torigoe, Taito-ku

￥0

Torigoe Festival 2026 is one of Tokyo’s most energetic traditional festivals, best known for its impressive Sengan-mikoshi, a…

[3
8,52
0":"post-19756","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-tokyo","8":"tag-japan","9":"tag-tokyo
["GET
