{"id":19892,"date":"2026-05-10T08:26:16","date_gmt":"2026-05-10T08:26:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/japan\/19892\/"},"modified":"2026-05-10T08:26:16","modified_gmt":"2026-05-10T08:26:16","slug":"hungarys-first-new-prime-minister-in-16-years-vows-to-rebuild-economy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/japan\/19892\/","title":{"rendered":"Hungary&#8217;s first new prime minister in 16 years vows to rebuild economy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hungary&#8217;s new prime minister has pledged to revive the country&#8217;s economy following the first change of government in 16 years in the Central European nation.<\/p>\n<p>Peter Magyar was sworn in at the National Assembly in Budapest on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>His party Tisza won more than two-thirds of the seats in the parliamentary election in April, ousting longtime Prime Minister Viktor Orban.<\/p>\n<p>Magyar said in an address to lawmakers that the Hungarian people have given him and his party a mandate to open a new chapter in the country&#8217;s history.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed his intention of rebuilding the economy whose growth has remained sluggish.<\/p>\n<p>About 80,000 people gathered in front of the National Assembly for a ceremony to celebrate his swearing-in.<\/p>\n<p>The prime minister expressed gratitude for their support in the election.<\/p>\n<p>A university student said he had been waiting for this moment.
