HALEU supply: The HALEU, which was no longer needed following the shutdown of Japan\u2019s Fast Critical Assembly, is being sent to the Y-12 National Security Complex at Oak Ridge, Tenn., where it will be reconstituted into a form usable for U.S. industry. <\/p>\n
President Trump\u2019s Executive Order 14299, \u201cDeploying Advanced Nuclear Reactor Technologies for National Security,\u201d directed the energy secretary to release into a readily available fuel bank not less than 20 metric tons of HALEU for use by the private sector.<\/p>\n
