The store comes as the brand continues to expand with new store openings across the U.S., including one that opened earlier this year on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcchicago.com\/news\/local\/popular-japanese-brand-uniqlo-opening-2-chicago-area-stores-including-1-at-a-suburban-mall\/3837815\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.nbcchicago.com\/news\/local\/popular-japanese-brand-uniqlo-opening-2-chicago-area-stores-including-1-at-a-suburban-mall\/3837815\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Michigan Avenue<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our strategy is about thoughtful growth \u2013 opening the right stores in the right places \u2013 while ensuring every location reflects our customer\u2019s voices and delivers a meaningful, high-quality experience,&#8221; Fuminori Adachi, UNIQLO USA CEO said in a previous release about the Chicago-area store openings. <\/p>\n<p>According to the release, the new stores will include self-checkout stations, alteration services and RE.UNIQLO donation bins. Some stores will also offer customizable t-shirt and tote-bag services, as well as embroidery.<\/p>\n<p>In Oakbrook, opening weekend for Uniqlo will include a number of events and giveaways including Chicago-exclusive tote-bags filled with Garrett&#8217;s popcorn, treats from Stan&#8217;s Donuts, Japanese Calligraphy offers and more. <\/p>\n<p>The grand opening weekend will also include a number of traditional Japanese drum performances, starting at 9 a.m. Friday. Doors will officially open to the public at 10 a.m., organizers said.  <\/p>\n<p>The Oakbrook store opening follows the grand opening of Uniqlo&#8217;s new Chicago flagship location, which opened at 600 N. Michigan Ave. in March to lines <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcchicago.com\/news\/local\/long-lines-of-shoppers-wrap-around-the-block-on-michigan-avenue-for-new-uniqlo-store\/3914589\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.nbcchicago.com\/news\/local\/long-lines-of-shoppers-wrap-around-the-block-on-michigan-avenue-for-new-uniqlo-store\/3914589\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">wrapped around the block<\/a>.
