The energy drink giant may have found a new strategy in the battle against yours truly: confusion. As of this week, I have heard nearly identical reports from previously reliable sources regarding two different Red Bull flavors returning in 2026. Which flavor will become Red Bull Winter Edition 2026? Which flavor will be Red Bull’s second-ever Festive Edition? Let’s dig into what I’ve heard and how I think it’ll all shake out.

Which past Red Bull Winter Editions could be returning?

At this time, I’m reasonably confident we’ll see Red Bull Winter Edition 2020: Arctic Berry and Red Bull Japan‘s Winter Edition 2024: Kankitsu Mikan hit American retailers later this year. Per our own rundown of every (American) Red Bull Winter Edition to date, Arctic Berry was a chilly raspberry flavor that earned mixed reviews from the public. Per my initial Instagram coverage of Red Bull Japan’s Winter Edition 2024, the flavor was inspired by the popular Japanese citrus fruit, mikan (also known as satsuma and frequently misidentified as a mandarin orange).

Arctic Berry and Close-But-Not-Quite-Mandarin Orange both feel sufficiently “wintery”–but which one will become Red Bull Winter Edition 2026? My sources were split, but I’m comfortable making a prediction based on previous releases.

Which flavor will become Red Bull Winter Edition 2026?

At this time, I believe we’ll see the Japanese Kankitsu Mikan flavor hit American shelves for the first time as Red Bull Winter Edition 2026. If this flavor debuts in America as this year’s Winter Edition, it would be the third domestic Red Bull Edition in a row with Japanese origins. (Red Bull Spring Edition 2026: Cherry Sakura debuted in Japan back in 2016 as the world’s first Red Bull Spring Edition, while Red Bull Summer Edition 2026: Sudachi Lime was based on the Japanese sudachi fruit.) Stay tuned to Sporked for further updates on the true identity of Red Bull Winter Edition 2026.

Which flavor will become Red Bull Festive Edition 2026?

For the uninitiated, Red Bull started releasing annual advent calendars a few years ago overseas. Last year, the brand brought the concept to American retailers like Walmart and Costco. The domestic 2025 advent calendar also featured the exclusive return of Pomegranate Red Bull as the brand’s first “Festive Edition.” The inclusion marked the flavor’s first return since it debuted in 2021’s Winter Edition. As such, it would only make sense for the rumored return of Red Bull Winter Edition 2020: Arctic Berry to come in the form of this year’s Festive Edition.

Red Bull’s advent calendar variety packs seem to appeal only to superfans; it makes total sense to revive long-lost flavors in those packs to boost sales. Who doesn’t have a discontinued Red Bull flavor they’d do (or spend) more than they should for one last taste of?
