Koichi Terasaka, the initiator of KitaCon, held an introductory event at the <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gigazine.net\/news\/20260516-summary-machiasobi30\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Machi\u2605Asobi vol.30<\/a> venue, so I&#8217;ve summarized the content.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve come all the way from Kitahiroshima City, Hokkaido! We&#8217;re excited to announce a new &#8216;subculture festival&#8217;!<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.machiasobi.com\/event\/562\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">https:\/\/www.machiasobi.com\/event\/562\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The introductory event was held at the entrance on the first floor of ufotable CINEMA.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/i.gzn.jp\/img\/2026\/05\/16\/kitakon-machiasobi30\/01.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/japan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/01_m.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" class=\"lzsmall\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>From left to right: Kazuki Yanase, the publicity producer for &#8216;Jashin-chan Dropkick&#8217;; Saki Kawamura from Kitahiroshima City Hall; and Koichi Terasaka, the initiator of &#8216;Kita-Con&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i.gzn.jp\/img\/2026\/05\/16\/kitakon-machiasobi30\/02.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/japan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/02_m.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" class=\"lzsmall\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>She came all the way from Kitahiroshima. Apparently, Ms. Terasaka&#8217;s family home is also in Kitahiroshima.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i.gzn.jp\/img\/2026\/05\/16\/kitakon-machiasobi30\/03.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/japan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/03_m.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" class=\"lzsmall\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hiroshi Matsuyama from CyberConnect2 also rushed over after finishing the opening ceremony of Machi\u2605Asobi vol.30.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i.gzn.jp\/img\/2026\/05\/16\/kitakon-machiasobi30\/04.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/japan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/04_m.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" class=\"lzsmall\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Kitahiroshima is located 17 minutes from Sapporo and 21 minutes from New Chitose Airport. It gained considerable attention when Escon Field, the home stadium of the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, opened in 2023.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/i.gzn.jp\/img\/2026\/05\/16\/kitakon-machiasobi30\/05.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/japan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/05_m.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" class=\"lazyload\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Kitahiroshima City is also known as the place where the famous Dr. Clark uttered the famous words, &#8216;Boys, be ambitious.&#8217; Ms. Terasaka loves the city-wide entertainment event called Machi\u2605Asobi, and she planned and brought to life a contest inspired by Machi\u2605Asobi.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i.gzn.jp\/img\/2026\/05\/16\/kitakon-machiasobi30\/06.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/japan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/06_m.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" class=\"lazyload\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The first KitaCon event will be held on November 14th-15th, 2026. The timing is chosen to coincide with the &#8216;off-season for professional baseball&#8217; and &#8216;a time when there is no snow.&#8217; Like Machi\u2605Asobi, it will be a pop culture festival that brings together &#8216;anime,&#8217; &#8216;games,&#8217; &#8216;manga,&#8217; &#8216;cosplay,&#8217; &#8216;itasha&#8217; (cars decorated with anime\/manga characters), and more.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i.gzn.jp\/img\/2026\/05\/16\/kitakon-machiasobi30\/07.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/japan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/07_m.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" class=\"lazyload\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>KitaCon&#8217;s logo has not yet been decided, and they are currently using a temporary logo to promote the event.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i.gzn.jp\/img\/2026\/05\/16\/kitakon-machiasobi30\/08.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/japan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/08_m.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" class=\"lazyload\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The logo is currently being chosen through a public competition, with submissions coming in from design school students and others. The winning logo will be given its final touches by <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/engi-st.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">the Sapporo studio of the animation production company &#8216;ENGI&#8217;<\/a> .<br \/> <a href=\"https:\/\/i.gzn.jp\/img\/2026\/05\/16\/kitakon-machiasobi30\/09.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/japan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/09_m.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" class=\"lazyload\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, an image character is also in the works. The design is being handled by <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/yuukihagure\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Yuuki Hagure<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ononon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Oto<\/a> , who are known for designing the VTuber Usada Pekora.
