{"id":25182,"date":"2026-05-19T12:28:06","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T12:28:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/japan\/25182\/"},"modified":"2026-05-19T12:28:06","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T12:28:06","slug":"thai-government-and-nippon-steel-join-forces-to-forge-a-green-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/japan\/25182\/","title":{"rendered":"Thai Government and Nippon Steel Join Forces to Forge a &#8216;Green Industry&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul backs electric arc furnaces and tougher anti-dumping rules to modernise the nation&#8217;s vital steel sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Thai government has announced a strategic partnership with Japanese steelmaking giant Nippon Steel Corporation to transition the country\u2019s steel sector into an eco-friendly &#8220;green industry,&#8221; while\u00a0promising tougher trade measures to protect local manufacturers from foreign dumping.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul hosted high-level talks at Government House on Tuesday with Takahiro Mori, representative director and executive vice president of Nippon Steel.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The meeting, which included Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Suphajee Suthumpun and Industry Minister Varawut Silpa-archa, focused on modernising Thailand&#8217;s industrial base and cutting carbon emissions.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Driving the Green Transition<\/p>\n<p>A central pillar of the discussions was accelerating the adoption of Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) technology.
